Email Archiving
E-mail archiving solutions help organizations of any size manage electronic documents in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. While any type and size of organization can benefit from deploying an e-mail archiving solution, some organizations (classed as Tier 1) have a higher degree of urgency for this solution.
Tier 1 organizations are required to preserve all email and electronic documents by law. These include companies in the following sectors: Insurance, Financial, Healthcare, Legal, and Government. These organizations do not have a choice whether to deploy an archiving solution or not. In addition to these select industries, because of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, all publicly traded companies are also included in Tier 1.
Tier 2 organizations either belong to other regulated industries, or they have a high degree of incentive to monitor their internal e-mails. They include companies in the following sectors; Communications/Media, Service Providers, Education, Non-Profit, Consumer Goods, Retail, Manufacturing and High-Tech.
